I-4 / Selmon Expressway Connector Project Under Construction
3/1/2010
TAMPA -- Construction of the I-4 / Selmon Expressway Connector project began March 1, 2010.
The $389.5 million project will be a new toll road connecting Interstate 4 with the Selmon Expressway, west of 31st Street. This elevated roadway will link these two major east-west highways and significantly improve the movement of people and goods in the Tampa Bay region.
When the new roadway opens to traffic by summer 2013, it will also allow direct truck access to the Port of Tampa and remove heavy truck traffic from local roads in Ybor City, one of only two National Historic Districts in Florida.
Additional information is available by clicking the link below. Project lane and road closures will be available on this site and users can sign up for free email alerts about project closures, progress, meetings, and more.
